Touch 24 incorporates “Voice Alerts” using words rather than tones to alert you about the listening program in use, or when the battery is low.

Touch is built for hearing aid wearers that are outdoors, active and are counting on a product that can stand up to heat, humidity, and sweat-prone environments. Sonic Touch has been built with moisture protection in mind. It protects the inner workings of the aid so that it keeps on working for you.

Each model offers superior Wind Noise Reduction as well as superior Automatic Directional Technology which allows the user to let the Touch automatically handle changing listening environments or to use “manual override” settings to switch to specific listening programs for different listening environments.

Specifications

Digital
The two most common technologies used in hearing aids are analog and digital. Digital is newer and considered to be much more flexible, capable of doing more operations, and the only technology used in modern hearing aids.
Yes
Open Fit Type Call for Info.
Channels
Human speech ranges in frequencies roughly from 250 to 6000 Hz. Hearing aids are built so that this group of frequencies (250 to 6000 Hz) is divided into smaller groups, called bands or channels.
16
Memories
Multiple memory settings can be programmed into the aid to give the user the ability to cope with changing sound and noise environments with the push of a button.
4
Technology Level Call for Info.
Volume Control
Volume control is generally considered to be a manual adjustment that the user can control. All hearing aids have automatic gain control designed to make soft sounds audible and loud sounds tolerable. This is done automatically within limits programmed into the device.
No
On-Board Control Type
Controls on hearing aids usually have one or more of:
1. A momentary button used to change from one memory to the next
2. A button used to increase the level of volume
3. A rocker switch where pushing on one end does one function while the other end does another function
4. A wheel that will control volume
Memory Button
Remote Control Available
Remote controls for hearing aids are small enough to comfortably fit in a pocket. A remote control will enable more functions than can be put on a hearing aid itself.
No
Directional Microphones
Microphones are the electronic component that picks up sound. Microphones are very small and can be made to pick up more sound in one direction than all others. This is called a directional microphone.
Yes
Noise Reduction
Technology to separate voices from other sounds is continuously being improved. Each manufacturer has a patented process and trademarked name for noise reduction.
Yes
Sudden Noise Protection
This feature helps make hearing aids acoustically comfortable by dampening sudden loud noises, such as a dropped dish.
No
Wind Noise Protection
Wind noise is an important feature for those that spend time in the outdoors by reducing the roar of wind across the microphone. This feature is improving but is not effective in gusty wind conditions.
Yes
Feedback Management
Acoustic Feedback, is also known as squealing, buzzing, 'your aids are talking to you', etc.
Yes
Telecoil
Telecoils help with telephones that are rated hearing aid compatible.
No
Aid-to-Aid Communication
Communication from one hearing aid to the other is a very low strength signal designed to keep both hearing aids operating in the same mode at the same volume.
No
Bluetooth Capable
Being able to couple your hearing aids with a BlueTooth-enabled device, such as a cell phone, allows phone conversations to be heard through your hearing aids.
No
Direct Audio Input (DAI)
DAI is only on Large and Full Size hearing aids due to the need for terminals on the outside of the case. Using DAI allows other devices to connect directly to the hearing aids and input their audio signal.
No
Battery Size/Color
Conventional Hearing Aid Batteries cost less than a dollar per battery and are very easy to change.

Features

  • Sonic Sound Channels:
Sonic technology continuously samples incoming sound in up to 24 channels to regulate the noise/speech ratio in order to keep speech audible.
  • Phase Cancellation Feedback Reduction:
Sonic use a sophisticated phase cancellation system to reduce feedback. Once feedback is detected a 180 degree cancellation tone is generated that effectively cancels the original feedback sound.
  • User Controlled Feedback Retrain:
Sonic technology allows users to reset the feedback manager to conform to changing conditions such as wearing a hat.
  • Expansion:
Gain dependent noise reduction is designed to reduce soft noise in quiet as well as loud noise.
  • Digital Noise Reduction:
Digital noise reduction is designed to determine the differences between noise and speech to the reduce amplification of background noise while continuing to amplify speech sounds.
  • Wind Noise:
Helps reduce the roar of wind over the microphones.
  • Fixed Directional Technology:
    Basic directional microphone technology
  • Automatic Directional Technology:
By continuously sampling the signal to noise ratio this enhanced directional technology switches on automatically when noise is detected.
  • Adaptive Directional Technology:
Senses the direction from where the loudest noise is coming from and reduces amplification of sound coming from that direction.
  • Multi-Channel Adaptive Directional Focus:
In noise this technology creates a beam of focus to the front of the listener.
  • Automatic Program:
Continuously samples the surrounding sound and seamlessly switches to the optimum environmental program.
  • Manual Programs:
Manual overrides of the automatic program to lock the hearing aid in to a program the wearer determines is best for the sound situation encountered. An example is locking the hearing aids into the noise reduction program when riding in a vehicle.
  • Voice Alerts:
Voice alerts instead of beeps so the user knows exactly when the battery is getting low or which program has been chosen.
